As a founder and co-administrator of Zia I was involved in all phases

the operations of Zia. One of my first and most important duties was
to recruit students who fulfilled Zia's criteria.
My specific duties included full time teaching of various levels

students from grades four through nine. In addition, I created the
integrated curriculum which was theme based with a different theme
(e.g. Cultural
Development,World History, Medieval History, Space and the Universe,
US History, etc.)chosen
each year.
I designed the Language Arts and Foreign Language programs as well

of Art and Music. Students of the St. John's College tutored and

and replace them when and if necessary.
Zia's curriculum included an integral travel program. It was my
duty to
organize the trips which reinforced various aspects of the classroom
curriculum. Fall trips generally supported the science program

trips of ten to twelve day duration were planned to complete
the year's
theme.
